More great news coming out of the Merseyside Nighthawks American Football Program, as WRs Harry Routledge and Alex Eager have been added to the squad for this weekend’s International Friendly in Gothenburg against the Swedish national team.
It will be familiar territory for Routledge after playing in the Scandinavian country for a 2 successful championship seasons for the Carlstad Crusaders (Sweden’s national champions for the past 8 years). We spoke to Harry, who said ‘I am honoured to get another opportunity to represent my country. Playing Sweden makes it even more exciting for me as I will get to play against many of my old team mates. Representing GB is top of my list of achievements and I can’t wait to go out on Saturday and earn a win.’
It will also be quite familiar territory for Eager, who has also represented GB at student level in 2015. Eager, who featured at WR, DB and RB for the Nighthawks in 2017 also added ‘I’m just looking forward to wearing that GB jersey and hopefully making everyone proud by playing well!’.
We all wish Harry and Alex the best of luck in Sweden. Bring home the W boys!
