Sheffield MVPs

Our Offensive MVP for the Giants game  was #14 WR/RB Alex Eager. Alex, playing at RB for the missing Martin Murphy. had some solid blocking in front of him for the game, running foe 16 carries, and adding 6 catches to his name. His 180 yards from scrimmage included a big 55 yard TD in the 2nd quarter that gave the Nighthawks the lead at HT.

Our defensive MVP was captain and LB Mark Houghton. Rio set the example for the young Nighthawks defence, with 11 total tackles, 7 of which were solo tackles. His one tackle for a loss would’ve been overshadowed by a key interception in the 2nd quarter, had it not been for an offside call. Mark showed his defence what is required on the field, to gain his second MVP award in just 3 games.

Special Teams

Last but not least, our special teams MVP was Alex Eager. His first play, 90 yard kick off return put the Nighthawks up early, and helped him achieve 127 yards on just 2 kick off returns. He also made 3 of his 4 XPs on the day to keep the ‘Hawks competitive until the 4th quarter.
