FAQ's

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY FIRST TRAINING SESSION?

You will need to bring:

  • Water

  • Appropriate footwear for training on grass/3G turf

  • Gum-shield

When you arrive for the first time, introduce yourself to one of the coaches. Other players will be happy to help you identify the staff.

DOES IT MATTER IF I HAVEN'T PLAYED BEFORE?

Not at all!

Most of our best players started off as rookies, completely new to the sport. Each season we go through a rigorous off-season program where we will get you ready for the season ahead.

All we ask for is effort in training, listen to your coaches and learn about the sport away from the field.

DO I NEED MY OWN EQUIPMENT?

We provide you with a helmet and shoulder pads if you don't want to buy your own. You have the option of buying your own jersey and pants but we can also loan these to you.

You will need to provide your own footwear, gum shield, leg pads and any other equipment you may wish to use.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

To play American Football in the UK every player needs to pay the following:

  • League registration: Every player and coach must register for the British American Football Association League

  • Club subscription fee: Pays for training, training aids, helmet and pads hire, regular season home games and away game travel

We review our fee on a yearly basis to ensure that every member has access to high quality equipment and is kept as safe as possible.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE?

Our Adult Contact team look for players 18 years old and above.

In 2021 we will be reintroducing our Junior section:

U19 Contact - 16-19 years old

U16 Contact - 13-15 years old

U14 Flag - 11-13 years old

U11 Flag - 7-10 years old

Players must be under the age stated on 31st August the preceding year.

Example: someone who is 16 on 28th August 2022 would need to play in U19 team. Someone who is 19 on 1st September 2022 can play for U19 team.
